The Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) puts children first by helping both parents provide for the economic and social well-being, health, and stability of their children. OCSS serves parents and guardians, regardless of income and immigration status. The program helps tens of thousands of children every year by bringing more income into the home. OCSS collects more than $700 million a year on their behalf.
The DSS Court Services (DSS CS) division is responsible for processing cases received from the OCSS Borough Offices and Enforcement division on behalf of families in receipt of Cash Assistance and Medical Assistance. DSS CS works in conjunction with the DSS Office of Legal Affairs (OLA) and NYS Office of Court Administration (OCA) to file child support petitions in pursuit of establishment/modification of support and establishment of paternity, calendar hearings with the NYC Family Courts and process post-hearing actions on those cases.
Under supervision of the DSS Court Services Site Supervisors with latitude for independent judgment, the Clerical Associate IVs are responsible for the day-to-day clerical activities of the DSS Court Services Offices which include tasks of varying complexity such as summons processing, mailroom, calendar processing, court petitions, court services, adjournment and post court hearing processing functions. The Court Services Supervisors provide direct supervision to clerical staff who are responsible for filing petitions and scheduling hearings for DSS cases, processing summons services, subpoena requests, preparing case post court hearing decisions and other difficult and multiple clerical tasks.

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
