About the Job

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Ecommerce Engineering to join our Digital Engineering organization. This individual will be responsible for building applications to support best in class for online, mobile and instore customer experience. As a manager of ecommerce engineering, you will be responsible for leading and managing the User Interface (UI) development team. Your primary focus will be on overseeing the design and implementation of user interfaces using Next.js, Node.js, and React. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend developers, to ensure the seamless integration of front-end components with backend services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UI development, leadership skills, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.

What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of UI developers, providing guidance on best practices, code quality, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of responsive and user-friendly interfaces using Next.js, Node.js, and React.
  • Collaborate with designers to translate design specifications into functional user interfaces.
  • Ensure that the UI aligns with business requirements, brand guidelines, and usability standards.
  • Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality, readability, and adherence to best practices.
  • Closely monitor analytics, performance and other alerting and monitoring tools to ensure high quality of customer experience.
  • Collaborate with the backend development team to ensure smooth integration between front-end and backend systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in UI development, advocating for the adoption of new technologies when appropriate.
  • Work closely with project managers to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables related to UI development.
  • Prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and track progress to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  • Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, providing updates on UI development progress and addressing any challenges or roadblocks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand requirements, providing technical insights and recommendations

What You’ll Bring | Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Proven experience as a UI developer with expertise in Next.js, Node.js, and React.
  • 7+ years experience in JavaScript and JS frameworks, advanced front-end coding skills, and an expert level understanding of progressive web applications.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with responsive design and mobile development.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with state management libraries such as Redux.
  • Knowledge of server-side rendering and performance optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment processes.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong online presence in the development community.

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
  • Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, in a hybrid work environment from our Dublin California office.

The starting salary for this position is $133,400 - $170,000 and may increase to $200,000 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Other compensation may include a 12% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) bonus paid out according to policy. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
