Summary

As a senior system test engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of medical devices mostly through automated testing. Your duties include designing and executing test cases, collaborating with cross-functional teams and the automation test platform team, conducting a variety of tests, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of our medical devices. Main products are insufflators and pumps for minimal invasive surgery. Primary Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of systems requirements by offering insights and perspectives as a verifier to the system design engineers.
  • Develop, design and document formal system test requirements, plans and procedures.
  • Creation of mostly automated test cases. Manual in the minority. Implement test cases using C# language as “Scripting” language. In the form of simpler scripts.
  • Collaborate closely with the automation framework team. This team ensures the connection to devices we test and enables automation.
  • Run test cases through our automated test platform.
  • Document any non-compliance in the defect tracking database and work closely with developers to reproduce and investigate issues.
  • Research and evaluate suitable test tools and test methods.
  • Create and/or maintain automated test environments.
  • Make sure all the features, issues and tests are documented in compliance with internal processes.
  • Actively engage in identifying and adopting best practices in systems testing.
  • Opportunity to plan, coordinate, and report on behalf of the agile team. Drive the team to meet its commitments.

General Tasks

  • Coordinate with system engineers on requirements and testing environments to ensure efficient execution of testing.
  • Define testing strategies and conduct comprehensive testing (including the preparation and execution of test cases) in accordance with system requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead by example as a senior member of the small but growing local WOM Systems Verification team in Brno. System testers are fully integrated with the other team members on the site in Berlin, forming the entire Systems Verification team in the WOM business unit.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies

  • Experience with software test/verification processes and methods.
  • Advanced experience in system test design and implementation.
  • At least mid-level knowledge of C# is desired or deeper knowledge of any other languages with willingness to learn C# for test automation.
  • At least bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation or similar fields.
  • Good verbal and written English.

Considered a plus:

  • Knowledge of functional safety standards or other industrial safety standards is a plus.
  • Experience with embedded systems and hardware/software interaction is a plus.
  • Experience with technical handshakes across multiple teams.
  • Experience with agile processes or specifically Azure DevOps is a plus.
