Overview

Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the resort's fleet of golf carts and small engine equipment. This position ensures optimal performance of all vehicles and equipment used across our golf courses and resort facilities.

Responsibilities

The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this classification and are not all-inclusive of the specific position:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair golf carts, utility vehicles, and various small engine equipment 
  • Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, battery checks, and tire rotations 
  • Manage parts inventory and order replacements as needed 
  • Maintain detailed service records for all equipment 
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns during peak season 
  • Winterize and prepare equipment for seasonal storage 
  • Ensure all vehicles meet safety standards and operational requirements 
  • Coordinate with golf and grounds departments regarding equipment needs 

Qualifications

Qualifications 

  • Experience with small engine repair and maintenance 
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and mechanical components 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail 
  • Valid driver's license 
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 2+ years experience in golf cart or small engine repair 
  • Technical certification in small engine repair 
  • Experience with Club Car, E-Z-GO, or Yamaha golf cart models 
  • Background in a resort or golf course environment 
  • Mechanic must possess valid driver’s license.
