Remote Work Eligibility?HybridIs this a term position?NoIf yes, length of term in months.N/AIs this a grant funded position?NoPosition PurposeThis position works as part of the Dartmouth Libraries’ Research Facilitation team to develop and deliver a robust suite of services supporting data-intensive advanced research and curricular needs at Dartmouth. The person in this position will coordinate, develop, and provide deep research support, curricular and co-curricular educational modules, and data-related collections services to faculty, students, and staff. They will hold primary liaison responsibility for the economics department, and will work with other data-intensive subject areas, programs, and centers. They will develop, deliver, and assess effective programs and services, and assist in the development and implementation of research data services across Dartmouth. Twenty-five percent of the role holder’s responsibilities are dedicated to supporting the Tuck School of Business.
This is a hybrid work location eligible position.
DescriptionRequired Qualifications - Education and Yrs ExpMasters plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experienceRequired Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities● ALA-accredited masters degree in library and/or information science, or an advanced subject or professional degree; and 2 plus years of relevant postgraduate experience.
Preferred Qualifications● Academic background in a data-intensive social sciences discipline.

Key Accountabilities
DescriptionIn partnership with the Head of Research Facilitation and related liaison teams, assists in the development of a comprehensive platform and suite of research data services to support and advance interdisciplinary digital scholarship at Dartmouth. Provides information, research consulting, and data services in a dynamic and collaborative academic library environment. Coordinates with partners across campus and library departments to facilitate extended and contextualized research data services and specialized resources. Ensures that indigenous, culturally, or personally identifiable sensitive data adheres to relevant protocols and informed best practices.
Percentage Of Time40DescriptionActs as a functional library liaison to economics, and possibly other data-intensive subject areas, programs, and centers. In partnership with colleagues: provides reference, collections, and teaching support; develops, maintains, and assesses data, print, and digital resources and collections in selected areas; regularly reviews departmental academic programs, research priorities, and information needs to refine library services and resources; communicates regularly and effectively with core constituencies.
Percentage Of Time30DescriptionDevelops and implements instruction resources to help faculty, students, and staff expand research skills, including data discovery, curation, management, analysis, visualization, and preservation. Collaborates with colleagues in the Libraries and in Information, Technology & Consulting (ITC) to teach in curricular and co-curricular settings. Consults with students on class assignments or projects using relevant data tools and programs.
Percentage Of Time20DescriptionMonitors trends and best practices in library and industry-based research data efforts, with an emphasis on statistical data, open data/software and ethical data use. Recommends and facilitates improvements to existing programs and services, and participates in internal training and professional development for Dartmouth Libraries and related staff (including committee service, publication, and professional activities).
