Essential Job Duties
The Integrations and Solutions Professional-II will serve as Data Engineer for the Precision Sustainable Agriculture (PSA) Network, which services scientists collecting data on sustainable agriculture systems across the United States. The mission of the PSA network is to design clean uniform data collection and aggregate data from sustainable farming practices on a nationwide scale in order to develop predictive, real-time models to help farmers make decisions in a changing agriculture environment.
This Data Engineer is integral to the program by managing and coordinating the PSA Data Flow team and will build visualizations around grower needs on a web platform by using data collected in real-time by network field technicians. This team is comprised of a network of multiple collaborating institutions from around the country that are part of the PSA program building visualization web platform around grower needs by using data collected in real-time The Data Engineer will need a knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices as well as computer science and coding techniques to effectively parse, and store data for modelers and future collaborators.
