JOB SUMMARY: 

The Cage Cashier is responsible for safeguarding company assets and adhering to company and departmental policies, procedures, and gaming regulations. This role requires practicing excellent customer service standards and accurately handling customer exchanges for chips, cash equivalents, cash, and checks within established procedures. Responsibilities also include exchanging foreign currency and performing all other associated cage functions.

The Cage Cashier assists customers in establishing credit lines and communicates with appropriate personnel regarding customer credit information. They handle pit fills and credits efficiently and collaborate with team members within the department and across other departments. The Cage Cashier must be proficient in executing all cage cashier functions, including but not limited to:

  • Cage Marker issuance and redemption
  • Front Money Deposits and Withdrawals
  • AF/Discounts
  • Title 31
  • Race and Sports ticket redemptions
  • Answer telephones
  • Travelers checks
  • Issue Total Rewards cards
  • Wire transfers
  • Casino Credit Applications
  • Self-Redemption units
  • Chip redemptions
  • Check Cashing
  • Credit Card Cash Advance
  • Coupon redemption
  • Fast Cash redemption
  • Numerous bank accountabilities
  • Foreign currency
  • Foreign chips 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Ensure excellent guest service.
  • Always present oneself as a credit to the department.
  • Meet attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to the departmental and company guidelines.
  • Protect company assets.
  • Provide assistance to other departments.
  • Must be able to stand for long extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to push/pull heavy carts on the casino floor.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned area.
  • Must have manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment to include but not limited to: 10 key adding machine, PC computers, fax machine, photocopy machine.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must be able to work in moderate to loud noise conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school graduate or equivalent with computer experience necessary for data entry.
  • Organizational abilities necessary for completion of tasks in timely manner.
  • Excellent customer service skills essential in dealing with personnel and customer base.
  • Emphasis on well-groomed appearance to ensure and promote positive image.
