GENERAL FUNCTION

The Manager of Supply Chain Planning optimizes inventory investment to achieve service level goals. This role must collaborate cross functionally within the department and with internal customers. The role is responsible for working capital management of USD +$10 million through maintaining a strong working relationship with sourcing, brand and finance stakeholders.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead/Coordinate cross functional activities with other managers within the organization
  • Oversees product inventory of multiple facilities to support brands while maximizing working capital productivity and in-stock service level to meet consumers’ needs
  • Evaluate performance at product group and SKU level, managing forecast/sales/replenishments factoring cannibalization, stock position and expansion plans
  • Develop inventory plans to deliver strategic initiatives, support sales and maximize inventory turns
  • Anticipate and mitigate potential risks to supply and maintain service level targets
  • Improve forecasting accuracy through collaboration planning
  • Manage the purchasing of new product introductions to ensure flow supports sales & marketing initiatives
  • Perform semi-annual inventory obsolescence review
  • Prepare COM (cost of merchandise) forecast and provide to Finance Department for profitability analysis
  • Analyze impact of supplier cost changes, retail price increases and overall department makeup, average dollar sale and gross profit
  • Align with sourcing, engineering and quality to finalize stage gate process for new products and determine purchase order quantities for new product launches
  • Partner with sourcing and brands to support product strategy

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, supply chain management, or operations management
  • 5+ years’ experience in production, manufacturing planning, or supply chain
  • Working knowledge of Supply Chain Planning and Inventory Management principles
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills – quickly extract conclusions from available data
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems (Oracle, SAP), Planning Systems, Excel, MS office suite of products
  • Finance and accounting principles - able to communicate financial plans and results from a product and merchandise perspective
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience in optical manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools like Power BI, Tableau & Business Objects
