Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to join our R&D Finance team at Freshworks. In this pivotal role, you'll be the strategic finance partner to our Product and Engineering teams, helping shape key decisions with your financial expertise and strong analytical skills. You'll engage with senior leadership, provide actionable insights, and guide your team to deliver results that drive business growth. Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with Product leadership to develop, refine, and implement strategic plans for the next 1-3 years. Highlight risks and opportunities related to business growth, helping guide investment decisions through insightful financial models and analysis. 
  • Collaborate with corporate and GTM FP&A teams to define and track key performance indicators (KPIs). Use these metrics to ensure that strategic goals are met, driving both financial and operational success. 
  • Build and refine complex financial models to evaluate business scenarios, including marketing investments, ROI, and go-to-market strategies. Provide data-driven recommendations that influence critical decisions. 
  • Take ownership of financial reporting deliverables, such as month-end close packages, variance explanations, and performance transparency. Ensure clear communication with the Accounting team and other business partners to explain key drivers and results. 
  • Lead the charge in streamlining, standardizing, and automating financial processes and reporting. Constantly look for ways to enhance efficiencies and drive operational improvements. 

Please note this is a hybrid role with onsite expectations of 3x/ week (Tue - Thur) from our San Mateo, CA headquarters.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in finance, including at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in FP&A, management consulting, investment banking, or similar roles 
  • Ability to lead teams to deliver exceptional results and drive business growth
  • Ability to influence all levels of leadership to drive actions, behaviors, decisions, and business outcomes
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/ Google Sheets to analyze complex business scenarios by building/improving financial models
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, simultaneously manage several priorities, and challenge the status quo to lead change and operational improvements
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to synthesize large volumes of data into insightful recommendations to the executive leadership team
  • Strong accounting knowledge, especially in a software/ SaaS environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with experience in presenting to business partners with confidence, conviction, and credibility 
  • Experience with SaaS/ Cloud Computing business models is a plus 
  • MBA is a plus 

Additional Information

This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and the expected base salary range for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for a target bonus

Base Salary: $194,900 - $280,000
