Overview

The Sr. Sourcing Manager is responsible for sourcing ingredients and packaging to ensure a source of supply is in place to meet rapidly growing sales demand amidst complex supply chain dynamics. This position works closely with Product Development, Quality, Brand Marketing, Finance, and the Supply Chain team in identifying new and alternative packaging and ingredients, negotiating agreements with suppliers, working with suppliers on sustainable & ethical sourcing initiatives, resolving operational problems and managing the on-going supplier performance.

This hybrid position works in the DTLA Arts District office Tuesday through Thursday. 

Responsibilities

  • Drive cost savings initiatives by negotiating with suppliers, implementing value engineering projects, and optimizing operational efficiencies, ensuing pricing tiers and timelines align with demand forecasts
  • Partners with Product Development, Quality, and Marketing teams to support innovation pipelines and deliver on-time, successful product launches
  • Collaborates with Manufacturing and Quality teams to resolve issues with supply and secure financial recoupment when needed
  • Monitors market trends, industry advancements, and supply chain risks to proactively identify opportunities and mitigate potential challenges
  • Analyzes the spend portfolio and develops strategies for commodity categories with a focus on supply/price risk management, supply resiliency, value creation, and agility
  • Leads Quarterly Business Reviews with strategic suppliers and cross-functional internal team members to strengthen engagement, collaboration, and supplier accountability
  • Keeps lead times and MOQs up to date in our ERP
  • Tracks and analyzes key performance indicators to evaluate supplier performance and ensure consistent achievement of quality, cost, delivery and customer service targets
  • Negotiates pricing and agreements with suppliers to ensure a continuous source of supply to support the overall business needs
  • Champion sustainable sourcing practices that align with Califia Farms sustainability mission

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in sourcing or procurement within a consumer products company. Food & beverage experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the raw materials market including geographical, political, and economic impacts on supply security
  • Experience selecting and managing suppliers, including negotiating price, risk management, and contract management
  • Experience designing and supporting process improvement projects in supply chain
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Have a high degree of personal accountability
  • Ability to proactively lead and make well-reasoned recommendations in a changing environment
  • Comfortable operating confidently in ambiguous situations
  • High level of adaptability to manage the changing needs of the business as they arise
  • Ability to self-manage and meet tight deadlines with limited supervision
  • Change management experience leading without authority to influence others and drive decision-making
  • Proficient with Excel to perform detailed analyses of supply strategies and recommendations
  • Excellent written/oral, time management, and quantitative/analytical skills
  • Experience using Project Management tools

The expected salary range for this position is between $130,000 - $145,000 per year based on a full-time schedule. Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting the actual salary.
