Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Senior Tax Manager to join our Global Tax Technology, Process and Controls team. This role is a project role and based in New Brunswick, NJ.

Role Summary:

In this role, the Senior Tax manager will lead the design, implementation and maintenance activities for SAP S4 and Vertex to support direct and indirect tax functionality. The Senior Tax Manager will be part of the Global Tax Technology, Processes and Controls team. As part of the role, the Senior Tax Manager will cooperate across various workstreams, such as deliver, customer service, finance, and IT as well as with global tax teams to gather requirements, ensure timely deployment and translate requirements into system functionality. This role will support the global deployment of Vertex and SAP S4. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for various project teams in view of the deployment of new S4 and Vertex
  • Lead day to day tax technology related project activities
  • Lead requirement gathering and collect and review physical and financial flows
  • Lead translation of requirements into system design and build
  • Lead design, configuration and build of Vertex functionality and Tax related functionality in SAP
  • Lead design and execution of test scenarios and ensure system design meets requirements
  • Lead hyper care activities and trouble shoot
  • Connect with customer service teams in order to trouble shoot and solution potential Vertex issues
  • Connect with and provide updates to leadership on project status, run state, scope and tax requirements
  • Collaborate with the appropriate Tax functions, Finance and various business partners to collect requirements and understand interdependencies with other workstreams
  • Lead administrative tasks relating to project deployment (eg project planning, dashboards, status updates), change control and security

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s level degree is required
  • 5 years experience in tax, finance, IT or related field is required
  • Knowledge of Indirect tax and/or direct tax is required
  • Strong Analytical skills and attention to detail is preferred
  • Good organization skills and ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and time is required
  • Knowledge of Vertex is preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred
  • Knowledge of general finance, tax and accounting processes is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to partner with, influence and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and fluid situations
  • Some travel may be required

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

120,000 - 207,000
