To protect the Ascension Island populace from disease carrying insects or rodents and minimize damage to

structures caused by these vectors.

This position is contingent based on contract award.

Responsibilities

Major Job Activities: 

• Customer Interface, Respond to Work Orders.
• Performing Pest Management IAW the SOP/SOW and Instructing/providing technician training.
• Developing pesticide application schedules.
• Administrative functions (meetings, e-mail).
• Performs other duties and assignments as stipulated in the PWS.

Material & Equipment Directly Used: 

• Must be familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and be able to locate hard-to find. items on the internet.

Working Environment: 

• The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
• The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one
• hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and
• humidity.

Physical Activities: 

• Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and other job duties needed to perform scope of work.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Subject to a government, security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information.

Education / Certifications: 

• Must have a high school diploma.
• Insecticides and Rodenticides
• Health Monitoring

Experience / Skills: 

• The installation pest management coordinator (IPMC) should have knowledge in Commercial Pesticide Applicator with sub-categories to treat the following: Ornamental and Turf, Structural and Rodent, Aquatic Insect, and Public Health.Additionally, the individual's certification must be authorized for the procurement of restricted use insecticides and rodenticides. Shall be trained, certified, and have their health monitored IAW AFMAN 32-
• Shall be certified IAW DoDM 4150.07 and shall have an appropriate State or HN certification in the appropriate categories at the time of hire.
• Shall ensure HN personnel receive non-Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act training in accordance with DODI 4150.07 and the Ascension Final Governing Standard. 
• All pesticide IPMC shall be certified IAW DoDM 4150.07 and shall have an appropriate State or HN certification in the appropriate categories Additionally, limit the use of unnecessary pesticide applications and enforce the use of personal PPE.
• Vast knowledge and background in IPM techniques and implementation.
• Perform a pro-active pest control program to include control of grubs, arthropods, termites (including in-wall, barrier treatments, and fumigation) and other insects, mold, “sick-building” syndrome, and animals to include rodents (e.g., mice and rats) in and around facilities and grounds.

Supervisory / Budget Responsibilities: 

• As needed.
