Applies knowledge about curriculum, requirements and educational activities to coordinate professional health education programs. Coordinates and maintains program operations, which may include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation.
UCSF Medical Education seeks a Health Professions Education (HPE) Systems Specialist to join the Systems Team in the Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME). The HPE Systems Specialist will apply knowledge of GME, Residency Management Software (i.e. MedHub), GME policies, and Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements to help the Office of GME support 200 training programs across 20 clinical departments through:
The HPE Systems Specialist should be able to effectively communicate technical information to various audiences in a variety of methods including through writing, email, videoconferencing, and in-person meetings and presentations. This position should be adept at fostering collaborative relationships among stakeholders from different departments.
As a member of the Office of GME team, the HPE Systems Specialist will work alongside team members to support and assist in the day-to-day operations for the UCSF GME educational mission.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $83,700 - $125,600 (Annual Rate).

Department Description
The UCSF School of Medicine is one of the largest and highest quality sponsoring institutions of residency and fellowship training programs in the country. The Office of Graduate Medical Education (OGME) in the School of Medicine Dean’s Office is responsible for the oversight, coordination, and general management of more than 220 ACGME/ABMS, non-ACGME, and non-MD residency and fellowship programs, which train approximately 1,700 trainees each year. OGME works in partnership with the program administrators and program directors in 21 UCSF clinical departments to ensure resident and fellow needs are met and programs are of the highest educational quality. In addition, OGME represents programs and their trainee interests at UCSF, UCSF Health, San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center communities. Areas of responsibility and collaboration include program and institutional accreditation; resident and fellow well-being; resident and fellow credentialing, licensing, and appointments; educational technology; Residency Management Software management; GME diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); patient safety and quality; events and curricular programming for residents, fellows, program directors, and program administrators; resident and fellow development; program director and program administrator development; communications; human resources; payroll; health insurance and other benefits; and all other areas that impact residents, fellows, and GME programs.
