The Xcode and Swift Playground Program, Build, and Release project management team is responsible for running bug tracking operations, coordinating and planning our daily builds, and delivering software releases internally and to the public. Engineering Project Managers (EPMs) are one of the secrets to Apple’s success in delivering quality software on-time. We bridge organizational boundaries and drive cross-functional collaboration, enabling teams to surpass what they might achieve on their own and expanding the possibilities of what we can build as a company. We are seeking an experienced project or release manager. These tools are used by millions of developers of macOS, iOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS apps. This role has a great opportunity to automate tasks for validating builds are done correctly, posting deliverables, and communicating with engineers. Scripting experience with Python, Perl, or Swift is critical.
As a build and release project manager, your responsibilities include:
Coordinating within our team and with our partners to release high-quality tools on time
Understanding and driving our integration and build processes, from bootstrapping to seeds to customer ship
Tracking and prioritizing tasks across multiple product releases and efforts simultaneously
Driving resolutions on build issues with engineering teams
Providing daily prioritized information to the build and integration team on upcoming releases
Communicating effectively at all levels, from informal drop-ins to formal announcements, often being the face of developer tools inside Apple
Releasing software to developers through the Apple Developer beta program and the App Store
Automating repetitive tasks and seeing around corners for future tasks that would benefit from automation
