Job Summary:
The Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech is an individual with clerical aptitude who assists the staff nurse by assuming clerical responsibilities and by monitoring patient’s cardiac rhythm through recognition of changes according to telemetry policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Organizes and maintains the medical record.
- Transcribes orders appropriately and accurately.
- Utilizes correct communication methods to notify all disciplines.
- Communicates effectively to enhance unit operations.
- Assists with the coordination of resident care on the unit.
- Documents and communicates information regarding monitors and patient rhythm.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Successfully completes Monitor Technician class within 90 days of hire.
