Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Sr. Quality Improvement Specialist to oversee the strategic planning, implementation, and continuous monitoring of UCSF Health’s programs designed to meet CMS requirements, address member needs, and achieve organizational objectives related to CMS regulatory quality and alternative payment programs. The ideal candidate will engage closely with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders, fostering a culture of transparency, teamwork, and innovation to ensure the seamless delivery of impactful programs.
Reporting to the Director of Population Health Quality, the Sr. Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible for activities at UCSF Health that support the Mission, Vision, Goals and Values of the organization and promote high-quality patient and family care services across a growing provider network. The Sr. Quality Improvement Specialist is able to work independently and in collaboration with technical analysts and leaders across UCSF Population Health, Network Strategy, and Quality & Patient Safety teams, as well as other medical center staff and physician leaders to identify/implement strategies to improve the quality of care to patients of UCSF Health & the Affiliate Network.
In support of internal and external quality initiatives, the Sr. Quality Improvement Specialist applies extensive knowledge of quality data analysis and/or improvement concepts, EHR reporting methodologies, and data collection and abstraction techniques to substantial projects of large scope and high degrees of complexity.
In support of designated clinical departments, the incumbent will partner with physicians in a team-based approach to drive the program and maintain an open dialogue to achieve identified goals and priorities related to quality and safety. The Sr. Quality Improvement Specialist identifies potential problems in the care delivery process as a result of data monitoring and formulates a workgroup to resolve the issue and ensures new processes are in place to improve the delivery of care.

The Sr. Quality Improvement Specialist is a flexible role that requires up 30-40% time on-site at Brisbane, CA and requires travel to practice locations throughout San Francisco as needed. The incumbent should be able to provide a safe and private home office environment for conducting UCSF business.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $140,800 - $219,300 (Annual Rate).
