Position Details

The Department of Environmental Studies in the College of Natural & Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applications for part-time positions as non-majors environmental studies instructors.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Teach one or more non-majors environmental studies courses (e.g., Environmental Science, Urban Sustainability, Biodiversity Conservation, Introduction to Geosciences). Course sections meet 4 hours per week per semester.

2. Select course materials in consultation with the department Chair.

3. Assist students both in and out of the classroom.

4. Create course syllabus using learning outcome guidelines provided by the department and designed to meet general education goals of the University.

5. Provide meeting time for students as needed.

6. Administer and grade examinations and assignments.

7. Manage online/paperwork grading system as needed.

8. Assess and report student progress related to the general education goals of the University.

The successful candidate will have:

1. A minimum of a Master's Degree in Environmental Studies or related field; Ph.D. strongly preferred.

2. Experience teaching non-majors/introductory environmental studies courses preferred.
