As a Delivery Lead Consultant, you'll be a key member of our Insurance Operations & Domain Solutions team, working alongside experienced consultants and gaining exposure to a diverse range of projects. You will have the opportunity to apply your existing industry knowledge and consultancy skills, while developing your expertise in insurance technology and transformation.

You’ll be working with a multitude of market leading teams from Deloitte to deliver value to our clients across the full delivery lifecycle starting from strategy and proposition definition to detailed operations and tech design, and being part of engineering and implementation teams to deliver for our clients. As a Delivery Lead Consultant within Deloitte’s Insurance practice, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of technology and transformation projects for our insurance clients. You will work closely with project managers and senior stakeholders, taking ownership of specific workstreams and ensuring successful project execution. Your leadership, combined with your deep understanding of the insurance industry and project management methodologies, will be crucial in navigating complex projects and exceeding client expectations.

The specific roles and responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Assist with the application of project management methodologies, learning established guidelines and ways of working within complex delivery environments.
  • Support specific tasks within a project lifecycle, collaborating with team members under the guidance of experienced colleagues.
  • Develop relationships with client stakeholders through active participation in meetings and communication channels.
  • Contribute to project governance activities by assisting with data collection and reporting tasks.
  • Proactively communicate any roadblocks to progress and work with team members to find solutions.
  • Assist in the development of project deliverables, gaining experience with documentation standards and best practices.
  • Support the identification and documentation of project risks and issues, escalating concerns to senior team members.
  • Work collaboratively within diverse teams to contribute to the delivery of business outcomes.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions to contribute to the growth and development of the team.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders across different business functions and levels through observation and engagement in project activities.
  • Gain exposure to business development activities by supporting proposal development and client presentations.
  • Participate in internal Deloitte practice development activities to gain a broader understanding of the insurance practice and the firm's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning by staying informed about industry trends and seeking opportunities to develop new skills.

Someone who enjoys solving new and complex problems and challenging themselves to work in new fields to contribute to market facing propositions, client engagements and internal initiatives. Dedicated to learning and staying up to date with emerging market and industry trends.

Professional experience needs to include:

  • Experience of working in a similar role in a professional services business with project management experience, with hands on experience of leading on projects through a full lifecycle of initial requirements gathering and specification through to the acceptance and delivery of solutions/outcomes.
  • Exposure to the insurance industry gained through internships, placements, or early-career roles within an insurer (General Insurance, London Markets), broker, or consulting firm.
  • Experience working as part of a team in a project-based environment.
  • Foundational understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and their application in delivering projects.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following delivery areas:
  • Technology Delivery (including Cloud)
  • Business Transformation
  • Roadmap Design
  • Delivery Resource Planning
  • Basic understanding of one or more of the following functional areas:
  • General Insurance processes, reporting, and governance across quote, placement, Underwriting, Policy administration, Billing, Claims, Accounts/Finance & Risk Management.
  • London Market specific processes, reporting, and governance.
  • Outward & Inward Reinsurance Underwriting, Accounting, and Claims.
  • A demonstrable interest in emerging technology trends in insurance and broader financial services.
  • Experience interacting with stakeholders in a professional setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, with a developing ability to create presentations and analyse data.
  • Understanding of risk awareness and mitigation principles within a professional setting.

Preferably you will also have:

  • Experience supporting (consulting) bids, e.g. responding to RFI/RFP, and developing industry relationships.
  • Experience in implementing AI-driven solution within the general insurance lifecycle (e.g., claims automation, fraud detection, risk assessment, etc.) is highly desirable.
