Description of Work Unit
Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Located an hour north of the Denver metro area, Fort Collins is a vibrant community of approximately 157,000 residents that offers the convenience of a small town with all the amenities of a large city. Fort Collins is situated on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains with views of 14,000 foot peaks, and offers access to numerous cultural, recreational, and outdoor opportunities.
The mission of the Department of Mathematics is A) to maintain an outstanding program of research in pure and applied mathematics, B) to maintain high quality undergraduate and graduate programs in mathematics, C) to offer service courses for the other Departments of the University, and D) to serve the University and the state with outreach programs. The Department has around 150 undergraduate majors and 75 graduate students, with currently 30 tenure-track faculty along with 13 non-tenure track faculty.
Position Summary
The Department of Mathematics seeks applications throughout the year from individuals who are interested in a non-tenure track (CCAF) teaching assignment. A research component is not required.
Applications will be reviewed when a vacancy occurs.
Instructors must hold a M.S. degree in Mathematics or closely related area and are typically hired on a semester bases or for 9-months or more, and can be either part-time or full-time depending on departmental instructor need, student enrollment numbers, and funding.
Assistant Professor appointments must hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics or related area and are typically hired for 9-month period or more, and can be either part-time or full-time, depending on departmental instructor need, student enrollment numbers, and funding.

Required Job Qualifications
Instructor requirements: M.S. in Mathematics or closely related areas and 2 years previous university teaching experience.
OR
Non-tenure track Assistant Professor requirements: Ph.D. in Mathematics or closely related areas and 3 years previous university teaching experience.
Successful candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; Mathematics will not provide visa sponsorship for these positions.
