The Opportunity:
We are seeking expressions of interest for an Engineering Manager (Mission Systems).
The Engineering Manager leads and manages technical resources for the Mission Systems program, ensuring service delivery and fulfilment of KBR’s obligations. This includes resourcing the Recurring Services team, supporting Contractor Standing Capability tasks, and establishing technical resources for the setup, operation, and maintenance of KBR’s Support System, integrating it with Commonwealth elements.
Responsible for key capability teams:
The Engineering Manager anticipates future resource demands and skills shortages, ensuring capability growth. A strong understanding of relevant disciplines, standards, and best practices, including digital engineering, is essential.
As the technical leader, the Engineering Manager derives ADSS capability, ensures high performance of allocated engineering resources, influences technical strategy, and manages engineering policy, workforce planning, and professionalisation.
As a people leader, they guide technical learning and development, collaborate with Operational Units and People & Culture on career development, training, and professionalisation, and manage staff skills and performance.
They also support engineering processes within the ADSS Quality System, liaising with Program and OU Principal Engineers on Technical Assurance, including quality assurance, audits, analysis, corrective actions, reporting, and lessons learnt.
Balancing program delivery with technical assurance, the Engineering Manager advises Program and Project Managers, resolves workforce conflicts, and ensures optimal outcomes for the program and KBR.
