Job Summary:

Supervision of decontamination, sterile processing, general supply distribution and staff/functions. Oversees instruments/equipment repairs, day to day operations, and ongoing in-service education of Sterile Processing staff. Involved in hiring and evaluation of all Sterile Processing. Works with the Manager/Director in the development of the annual budget for sterile processing.

Licensure and Certification:

  • CRCST, CBSPD or Instrument Tech Certification Required

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • College preferred

Experience:

  • Three (3) years supervisory experience in Sterile Processing

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Staff management, Time card/ scheduling, budget building, and vendor product knowledge
  • Provide outstanding customer service
  • Exercise sound judgment, especially in an emergency situation
  • Prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Work cooperatively as a team member
  • Exhibit strong oral and written communications skills

Physical Demands – Clerical/Administrative Non-Patient Care:

  • Frequent sitting and standing/walking with frequent position change.
  • Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
  • Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.
  • Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.
  • Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.
