The Curriculum PD 6-12 Math Coordinator 1 plays a pivotal role in driving our district towards its future state vision. This entails delivering high-quality district-wide professional development sessions, providing customized support to individual campuses, and implementing curriculum strategies that align with our district-approved materials. Your efforts will be guided by district, state, and national student data aimed at fostering the success of our leaders, teachers, and students.
1. Design and deliver professional development sessions focused on internalizing state standards and alignment to NES model for assigned content area(s) and grade level band(s) as well as district curriculum resources.
2. Work closely with campuses to assess specific needs and deliver tailored support to enhance the implementation of the curriculum.
3. Develop and implement content strategies that align with district-approved curriculum materials, ensuring consistency and fidelity across all classrooms.
4. Analyze district, state, and national student performance data to inform professional development initiatives and curriculum support, ensuring continuous improvement.
5. Partner with campus leaders to align professional development efforts with goals, fostering a cohesive approach across the district.
6. Create and disseminate resources and tools to support delivery of high-quality instruction, ultimately increasing overall academic achievement.
7. Regularly review and provide feedback on curriculum aligned to state standards and district expectations.
8. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree
At least 3 years working as a teacher or in the district/central office of a large urban school district.
Microsoft Office, Google Suite
No supervisory or direct people management responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice and training to staff.
Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.
No budget authority.
Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.
Decisions have considerable impact to multiple divisions or the organization causing risks or improvements to relationships, significant efficiencies, or delays in operations/deliverables. Errors are serious and difficult to discover, normally involve decisions not subject to detailed review and will result in excessive time loss and/or significant project delays.
Collaborate and solve problems – works with others to resolve problems, clarify, or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial recommendation with partner approval authority. Interactions are typically with collaborators, stakeholders, senior level staff, and educational staff.
Follows through with customer inquiries, requests and complaints. Forwards difficult and nonroutine inquiries or requests to appropriate level for resolution.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
Ability to carry and/or lift less than 45 pounds.
