The team embodies the Advanced Technology nature of D&AT, representing specialist areas that include structural dynamics, seismic analysis, blast and impact design, and thermal and fluid mechanics. Focusing in advanced computer-based structural and dynamic analysis using Finite Element Analysis software, data analysis, coding and scripting, the team seeks to efficiently predict the behaviour of civil, structural and mechanical hardware. Whilst the team works across the core Atkins markets most recent projects have centred in the Defence and Nuclear markets, including Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C Nuclear New build, Class 1 Nuclear structures on Devonport, AWE and HMNB Clyde, and Renewables (wind energy). The team is diversely located across the UK, with this role principally based in our Epsom office but with opportunities to work at our own and our client locations elsewhere in the UK and overseas. You will be able to work on a range of projects from those of strategic national importance such as Hinkley Point C, HS2 & multiple defence projects, development projects like South Teesworks Master-planning and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
