Your Role

Kuehne+Nagel is embarking on an exciting journey to enhance our operational excellence through the implementation of a Global Observability Platform. This platform will leverage the powerful capabilities of Grafana LGTM (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, and Mimir). Our goal is to create a unified observability solution that provides comprehensive insights into our applications, services, and infrastructure across the entire organization. Objectives: - Scalable Observability Infrastructure: ensure the observability platform is highly available, resilient, and scalable within AWS EKS. - Automation & Reliability: leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to automate deployments, monitoring, and scaling. - Monitoring & Performance Optimization: maintain and optimize observability tools to ensure low latency and high efficiency. - DevOps Enablement: empower engineering teams with self-service capabilities for monitoring and alerting.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage the observability platform on AWS EKS using Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Automate deployment and configuration of Grafana LGTM stack components.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning and application monitoring.
• Optimize logging, metrics, and tracing pipelines for high-scale environments.
• Ensure security, governance, and access control policies are implemented effectively.
• Create and maintain self-service mechanisms to enable teams to configure their own dashboards, alerts, and observability settings.
• Collaborate with SRE, security, and development teams to integrate observability best practices into the DevOps lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance and training to internal teams on observability and monitoring strategies.
• Continuously improve platform performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Your Skills and Experiences

• Proficiency in Kubernetes (EKS preferred) and container orchestration.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, or similar tools).
• Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenSearch, or OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation using GitLab, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of logging, metrics, and tracing standards, including Fluentd, FluentBit, and OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and access control in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or Go.
• Problem-solving mindset with a passion for operational excellence and performance optimization.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
