Lead Software Engineer - .NET (Primary) + Java (Secondary)

Overview

In addition to our traditional payments portfolio, Mastercard is aggressively expanding into new payment flow and leveraging the digital and connected world of people and economies to deliver faster, reliable and more efficient propositions to make payments – send or receive money.

The Cross Border program is part of the wider Disbursement & Remittances business that we are looking to expand at a compounded rate of 50% per year for the next 5 years. We are building solutions to enable payments in an any-to-any format – anyone, anywhere can send or receive money using any channel – money exchanges, banks, digital wallets, cards or fintech apps – providing a seamless and unified experience for both individuals and business to move money.

We are looking for a passionate, innovative and experienced engineer with a proven track record in leading the evolution of software products and their implementation in various markets – comfortable both working hands-on as well as guiding and mentoring a team of engineers and critically always challenging the status quo and pushing and driving the technology roadmap to ensure that the solutions leverage technology to the maximum extent.

As the Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for setting the pace of the technology transformation and cloud adoption of the platform in support of the business and market growth.

Role

Lead the cloud-native transformation of the .Net platform and provide devops and cloud architecture design and engineering expertise.

Lead the Security and Operational resilience dimensions across the platform and drive an improvement in the non-functional posture of the platform

Expertise

• Expertise in both .Net and Java
• Expertise in Cloud native architectures and hands-on experience in designing and implementing cloud-native architectures
• Sound understanding of 12-factor principles, microservices architecture and event-driven architecture
• Experience in Apache Kafka is desirable
• Sound understanding and experience in implementing security models in API-based solutions - with experience in different AuthN/AuthZ and Encryption models
• Sound command over UML, Design patterns and architecture frameworks - knowledge of TOGAF is a plus
• Experience building enterprise-grade secure & scalable systems including an understanding of performance engineering principles.
• Experience in atleast 1 brown-field migration initiative moving platforms from on-prem legacy architectures to public cloud hosted cloud-native architecture
• Sound understanding of domain-driven architecture and engineering constructs.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills - with an ability & experience in creating, publishing and socializing architecture and design documents
