POSITION SUMMARY

The Epic Application Analysts are responsible for performing professional duties involving the selection or development, implementation, testing, documentation, maintenance and effective utilization of Epic applications software to meet and support clinical and business Information Services (IS) needs. The Epic application analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining a clear knowledge of their respective application and workflows associated with that application. They demonstrate excellent presentation skills, and have an excellent ability to answer end-users questions related to their application. Epic application analysts are responsible to keep their Epic certifications up-to-date and active. Off-hours work and participation in on-call rotation are required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Epic Certifications in one or more Epic applications (required within 180 days of hire)

Experience:

  1. Familiarity with legal requirements and operational policies related to patient and family privacy practices
  2. EHR Configuration and Build Experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of system development methodology and principles of project management.
  2. Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  3. Technical knowledge and understanding of clinical systems.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively with staff.
  5. Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.

License/Certification/Registration:

  1. None required

Receives minimal supervision from the Manager, IT Access and Revenue Cycle

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Acting as the primary support contact for the application's end‐users
  2. Identifying issues that arise in their application area as well as issues that impact other application teams, and working to resolve them
  3. Guiding workflow design, building and testing the system, and analyzing other technical issues associated with Epic software
  4. Identifying and implementing requested changes to the system
  5. Serving as a liaison between end users' workflow needs and Epic implementation staff
  6. Maintaining regular communication with Epic representatives, including participating in weekly project team meetings
  7. Working with Epic representatives, your organization's business community, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs in regards to the project deliverables and timeline
  8. Developing an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows by attending site visits and other integrated sessions
  9. Participating in training and working with end users
  10. Troubleshooting problems and questions
  11. Reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership
