Job summary

The Customer Liaison Demand administrator role is primarily responsible for providing Naval stores/equipment demand input and progression for both a military and civilian customer base. This consists of key engagement with Royal Navy ships including Air Craft Carriers, T45 destroyers, T23 Frigates, Mine Counter Measure vessels, Royal Fleet Auxiliary Vessels, Patrol vessels, Shore establishments, Army, Contractor and other units in support of operational deployments and when alongside in the UK. In collaboration with business partners, item owners and Fleet Operations we deliver demand requirement solutions IAW the tri service Defence Logistics Framework Standard Priority System.

Job description

  • This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
  • Working in a friendly team of 7 interoperable Customer Liaison personnel to act as focal point for any Naval stores related query. Acting as a link between the customer, business partner and SURFLOT management to keep the supply chain free flowing.
  • To process/progress MATDEM signals / high priority email requests (including OPDEF / DEFREP and DEMSUP related demands). Ensuring that all high priority signalled MATDEM’s, OPDEF’s and SPEED issues are met IAW RNTM 216/15 (Submission of Material Demands for DMJDI Afloat Units).
  • Vetting all Operational / Priority demands and carrying out daily demand progression. Prioritising work load to avoid bottle necks and demand backlogs. Networking with Customer Liaison team members and liaise with key partners including Inventory Managers in order to share Supply Chain information
  • Working with multiple LOGS IS: MJDI MIS, BIWMS+, WITS, RIDELS, JDTS, SS3 to provide demand progression and ensure delivery schedules are met (Full training will be provided). This includes engagement with Inventory Manager's to acquire delivery forecasts for unavailable items and liaison to gain required approval for management controlled items.
  • IAW local policy action SPEED demands with 2 hour turnaround liaising with business partner to expedite issue.
  • Undertake Maritime Demand Validation and Progression IAW Navy Command RNTM (under review) in order to provide cleaner demand picture of outstanding requirements.
  • Undertake MODNET RED OMEGA training in support of C2D2E requirement.
  • Provide general office administration support to customers and resolve supply chain problems.
  • Take care of queries from Ships and Establishments; collaborate closely with DE& S Commodity Managers, MSSP, UK Docks, Shipping sections, other Bases & NCHQ FOMO as necessary.
  • Undertake Group Mailbox distribution role for team multiuser (usually 1 day in 6).
  • Keeping up to date with required mandatory and role specific training and remaining proficient in all LOGS IS

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments.
