Working in a team with the Director of Affordable Housing, Shahi Islam, and Gareth Phipps-Williams, Assistant Director Affordable Housing Programme Management, the Assistant Director will play a critical role in delivering a new end-to-end service for affordable housing delivery. You will be joining an experienced team, who are committed to making positive change in how we deliver the Agency and Government’s commitment to increasing the number of affordable and social homes.

Working with key stakeholders across the Agency you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective resolution of project risks and issues and have the opportunity to help create a solution which will be smoother, more efficient, and better for our customers.
The role will support the design and delivery of key strategic projects around affordable housing with a focus on digital enhancement and improvements to processes and procedures that underpin the end-to-end delivery model for the programme. There are some ambitious projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to lead on both project management and design bringing innovative solutions to the service we are offering.
You will work within a large and diverse team with key values of the Affordable Housing Team’s centred on collaboration, diversity in experience and perspective, with the aim to foster good decision making and problem solving within the team.
You will be able to show your strong leadership skills in both people and project management and be able to balance multiple and changing workstreams, often to tight deadlines. You will be a strategic thinker who is able to design and develop new initiatives and swiftly operationalise them.
You will have excellent skills in systems and digital design and have strong project management skills with an in-depth knowledge of the affordable housing sector alongside.
You will also be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an affordable housing team. You will enjoy working within a fast-paced environment, turn around objectives with efficiency and accuracy and handle changing and expansive portfolios. You will also be an excellent communicator and be able to negotiate and persuade with confidence.
As an experienced project management professional, you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
