The Security Services Group is a specialist business unit within DIO providing security solutions across the MOD and wider Government Estate. With over 230 staff in the UK, Germany, Cyprus and Gibraltar, SSG designs, installs, and maintains critical security systems, ensuring the safety of Defence Operations. Person specification

Essential Requirements:

  • A working knowledge of installing or maintaining data/IP networks.
  • Experience with security system installations, including IDS, VSS, AACS, and PIDS.
  • Self-motivation, excellent workload management, and the ability to work independently.
  • A passion for customer service and a commitment to personal development.
  • Demonstrable experience in the security industry.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Membership with the Engineering Council or Security Institute.
  • HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or OND/ONC in Electronic Security Systems (IDS, VSS, etc.).
  • A recognised qualification in Project Management.

Full UK Driving Licence (with a maximum of 6 points)

The post does not offer relocation expenses. 

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
