Job summary

Do you thrive on keeping everyone organised, sorting out problems and doing something different every day? You could be the business manager we’re looking for! 

The Scottish Fiscal Commission is a small, independent public body with 28 staff and we offer Scottish Government terms and conditions. The five of us in the corporate team support the rest of the organisation, who are economists and statisticians.

As business and office manager, you’ll provide efficient, effective and proactive support for our organisation and you’ll be the “go to” person whom we rely upon to get problems fixed.

Job description

  • Provide efficient, effective and proactive support for our organisation.
  • Organise and prepare meetings and events, prioritising tasks and coordinating activity.
  • Coordinate our communication activity, organise meetings and slick online events, and be a professional first point of contact for emails.
  • Liaise with our HR shared service provider, support recruitment and organise learning and development activities.
  • Look after website updates and liaise with our website provider.
  • Ensure staff have the resources and supplies they need to do a fantastic job.
  • Monitor and report on office health and safety requirements and fix where necessary.

Person specification

Experience:

Experience of providing various support functions to an organisation (or part of an organisation)
