Senior Mainframe Developer.

We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Mainframe Developer with 20 to 24 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in IBM z/OS Connect Kafka Mainframe API Webservices (SOAP and RESTful) SFTP FTP Python IBM MQ REXX CICS VSAM JCL DB2 and COBOL. Experience in migrating MF application into Java Springboot apps Experience in WealthManager domain is a plus. This is a work from office position with day shifts and no travel required.

The Role: Fulltime with Cognizant

  • Role: Senior Mainframe Developer.
  • Location: Pennington NJ.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of complex mainframe solutions using IBM z/OS Connect Kafka and Mainframe API.
  • Oversee the development and integration of web services (SOAP and RESTful) to ensure seamless communication between systems.
  • Migrating MF application into Java Springboot apps
  • Provide expertise in SFTP and FTP protocols to ensure secure and efficient data transfer.
  • Utilize Python for scripting and automation tasks to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Implement and manage IBM MQ for robust messaging and communication between applications.
  • Develop and maintain REXX scripts to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the configuration and management of CICS for transaction processing.
  • Ensure the integrity and performance of VSAM datasets and JCL job streams.
  • Design and optimize DB2 databases for high availability and performance.
  • Develop and maintain COBOL programs to support business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in all technical implementations.

Qualifications:

  • Must have extensive experience with IBM z/OS Connect Kafka and Mainframe API.
  • Must be proficient in developing and integrating web services (SOAP and RESTful).
  • Must have strong knowledge of SFTP FTP and Python.
  • Must be experienced with IBM MQ REXX CICS VSAM JCL DB2 and COBOL.
  • Nice to have experience in the WealthManager domain.
  • Must have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Must have strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have a proactive and results-oriented approach.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Must be able to adapt to changing technologies and business requirements.
  • Must have a passion for continuous learning and professional development.

Salary and Other Compensation:

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
