Business Job Title: Materials Manager 

Job Summary: This position has primary responsibility for achieving customer satisfaction for Broan NuTone locations via the effective planning and placement of finished goods inventory throughout the distribution network. This role also is responsible for partnering with internal partners, such as Demand Planning and Customer Service, for the management of working capital to achieve best stakeholder value while meeting service requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Group-wide responsibility to plan required inventory levels for Finished Goods for Broan and to direct activities within the Supply Chain to execute per those plans.
  • Develop / execute inventory plans for goods manufactured at Hartford, at Group Manufacturing sites, and good purchased from third-party suppliers.
  • Collaborate with SIOP team & Demand Planners to ensure accurate inventory levels are achieved.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art tools to achieve optimal balance of working capital vs. inventory levels needed to achieve excellence in customer service.
  • Provide monthly/quarterly/annual purchasing (FG only) forecast to Finance.
  • Direct and coordinate activities to manage business forecasting.
  • Direct and coordinate activities related to new product launch and phase in of FG and Raw/component inventory.
  • Responsible for accuracy and integrity of annual Physical Inventory
  • Direct and coordinate activities related to product obsolescence and phase out of FG and Raw/component inventory, including developing and implementing service part inventory.
  • Direct and coordinate actions to fulfill sales promotion plans, customer promotions, start-ups of new products, and managing inventory to eliminate unnecessary SKU – inventory rationalization.
  • Manage Excess and Obsolete inventory, aligning with Finance for budgetary coordination (New OPR process, with assistance of Inventory Analyst.)
  • Create dashboards to monitor KPIs.
  • RCCM For delivery and inventory KPI misses daily/weekly/monthly. Drive ownership and accountability for 5Y and CM.
  • Monthly SD report for RCCM to Executive Leadership Team.
  • Develop, coach, and motivate purchasing, sourcing, and materials staff by setting clear priorities and allocating resources to ensure results are delivered to meet production needs and aligned with organizational expectations.
  • Carry out miscellaneous and temporary assignments as may be required.
  • Collaborate with peers in Operations, Manufacturing, Sales, and Quality Assurance to ensure decisions align with company objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Management, Operations Management, or related degree. APICS certification strongly preferred.
  • 5-6 years of progressive experience in Production Planning and Inventory Control
  • Demonstrated proficiency with ERP business systems and specific software tools associated with Inventory Management, Warehouse Management Systems, and Demand Planning / Forecasting.
  • Ability to act as a change agent willing to drive new processes while bringing the whole team along, keeping all stakeholders engaged.
  • Lean and Six Sigma experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Domestic and international travel is required up to 25%.
  • Perform work at desk and walking in and around manufacturing facilities.
