Job Title: Sanitation Supervisor
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Sanitation Supervisor to lead our sanitation team in maintaining a clean and safe plant environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sanitation within the food manufacturing industry and a strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, and environmental sanitation principles.
Responsibilities
- Assign sanitation team to perform regularly scheduled cleaning on equipment, floors, walls, and ceiling to maintain sanitary environment and safe plant conditions.
- Monitor all aspects of assigned work areas to ensure they meet established sanitary, quality, and operational standards.
- Initiate the purchase of required tools to meet performance needs and maintain accountability for tools issued.
- Conduct self-inspections to ensure adherence to master cleaning schedules and assigned cleaning projects.
- Participate in customer and other audit procedures and reports; take prompt corrective action where required.
- Notify production supervisory staff of downtime required to facilitate detailed cleaning on equipment.
- Capture and document process waste; work with operations to improve areas for waste reduction.
- Perform troubleshooting inspections on machinery; notify production and maintenance regarding identified concerns.
- Ensure adherence to budget with regards to staff levels, man-hours worked, supply cost, and contractor services; work to continually improve overall service within budget.
- Provide guidance and training to ensure company policies and procedures, including safety, HAACP, GMP, allergens, are complied with and that plant work rules are enforced.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review projects, goals, and to seek resolution for issues.
- Engage staff to solve problems and identify ideas for improvement; utilize CI and lean manufacturing tools to evaluate and implement improvements.
- Demonstrate positive leadership practices including setting clear goals with employees and providing regular feedback; complete annual performance reviews.
- Ensure implementation and effectiveness of new hire training and cross-training; train on revised SOP procedures for your assigned area.

Essential Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and environmental sanitation principles
- Knowledge of foodborne pathogens
- Understanding of US food laws and regulations
- Proficiency in wet and dry-cleaning methodologies
- Time management and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- 5+ years of experience, preferably with a food manufacturing company
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office suite
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to work in laboratory, office, and plant environments, occasionally exposed to noise, cold, heat, and dust
- Must be able to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to climb ladders, bend, stoop, and walk
- May require work on alternate shifts, evenings, or weekends

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $88000.00/yr.
