About the Team

At Nutanix, you'll be joining the Intelligent Operations team, a dynamic group of 9 passionate professionals split between San Jose, CA, and India. We emphasize a collaborative atmosphere that fosters technical excellence and innovative problem-solving. Our primary objective is to create scalable, distributed services that enhance the management efficiency and observability workflows of Nutanix infrastructure. We take pride in our proactive approach to addressing customer needs in monitoring and remediation, consistently pushing the boundaries of what is possible in this rapidly evolving space.

You will report to the Manager of Engineering, who values open communication and encourages team members to take initiative in their projects. The work setup is hybrid, requiring you to come into the office for 2 days a week, allowing for flexibility while still promoting in-person collaboration. Additionally, there are no travel requirements for this position, enabling you to focus on your deliverables without the need for frequent trips.

Your Role

  • Lead the development and enhancement of AI Ops features for the Nutanix platform, ensuring innovative solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Architect and design scalable, distributed systems using AI/ML technologies, focusing on observability and automation.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while adhering to Agile best practices, emphasizing quality and reusability.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers and product managers, to translate user requirements into impactful features.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Establish effective code quality mechanisms and lead code reviews to ensure high standards are maintained across the codebase.
  • Gather user feedback to iterate on product enhancements and drive adoption of new features.
  • Set first-year objectives to deliver at least two major product updates that leverage AI/ML capabilities for improved customer experience.

What You Will Bring

  • 5-8 years of software development experience in C++, Java, Python, or Golang.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Proven experience in developing AI/ML and analytics-driven applications for on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of scalable, distributed systems and experience with asynchronous programming and multithreading.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools, especially Kubernetes.
  • Solid knowledge of version control systems (e.g., GIT) and continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins).
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful web services with good database design knowledge (RDBMS, NoSQL).
  • Ability to write efficient scripts for development, debugging, and application profiling.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 136,800 and USD $ 273,600 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
