Job Title: Commercial Journeyman Electrical Maintenance Technician 

Job Summary

Dean|Fluor is looking for a skilled, licensed Commercial Journeyman Electrical Maintenance Technician with a strong background in commercial and industrial electrical systems working with low to high voltage systems. Works with TTO project managers to complete various projects.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Install conduit, electrical equipment and fixtures in commercial and industrial settings. 
  • Test and troubleshoot all installed equipment and wiring using diagnostic tools such as voltmeter, megger, phase rotation meters etc. 
  • Collaborate with construction teams to ensure proper installation of electrical systems. 
  • Work with low, medium and high voltage systems. 
  • Provide support for electrical infrastructure installations. 
  • Safely utilize power tools and maintain a clean work environment. 
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer’s installation manuals. 
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70 NEC, and local codes. 
  • Maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools. 
  • Follow safety policies and procedures to ensure personal and team safety. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Required Experience 

  • Minimum of 4 years as a Commercial Journeyman Electrical Maintenance Technician in a commercial/industrial environment
  • Familiarity with electrical installation and repair tasks. 
  • Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of safety protocols. 
  • Proficiency in using various power tools and electrical equipment. 
  • Experience in working with conduit installations. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. 
  • High school diploma or GED and an Electrical Journeyman license. 
  • Must be capable of achieving and maintaining TS/SCI security clearance. 
  • Ability to lift and work with equipment over six feet and work in confined spaces. 

Skills 

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical instructions, plans, and schematic diagrams. 
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 NEC standards. 
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision. 
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and effective scheduling skills in a dynamic environment. 
  • Compliance with all city, state, and federal licensing and certification requirements. 

Additional Information 

  • Lifting and physical exertion are required for this position. 
  • Required to perform other assignments as needed. 

ABILITIES:

  • Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
  • Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
