You will serve as a ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANIC LEADER in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPT. FACILITIES SUSTAINMENT of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.

Duties

• You will maintain and repairs highly complex Direct Digital Control (DDC) environmental monitoring and control system (EMCS) which use special purpose computers to store operating parameters and initiate adjustments.
• You will pass on instruction received from the Maintenance Supervisor to the work group. Works with and leads the work group.
• You will assign tasks to be performed to individual members of the work group. Answers questions on procedures, work orders, and other instructions.
• You will ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specs, or other instructions. Checks work while in progress and upon completion.
• You will ensure material, tools, equipment and supplies are on the job site when needed.
• You will obtain necessary information from supervisor, customer or other knowledgeable individuals when problems arise. Adjust work of group as necessary based on new information received.
• You will ensure work is completed within budget, on-time and within quality standards. Redirects work group as necessary. Informs the supervisor on problems, delays, and inefficiencies.
• You will assume duties of the Maintenance Supervisor when necessary.
• You will be able to use a computer to access and modify direct digital control (DDC) systems.
• You will troubleshoot hydraulic, electronic sensing and control systems including heating, cooling, refrigeration, humidifying and dehumidifying.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position requires exposure to high noise levels.
• Subject to mandatory call to duty at any hour of the day or night to restore critical equipment to proper operating condition to perform work essential to the Activity.
• Subject to periodic hearing/vision testing.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CPR certification and Lock-Out/Tag-Out training.
• Must possess an EICM or HVAC or Electrician Journeyman license/certification or at a minimum have 5 years of experience in EICM WG-4606-10, AC Equipment Mechanic WG-5306-10, or Electrician WG-2805-10.

Qualifications

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Investigate, troubleshoot and repair nonfunctioning and under-performing heating, cooling, humidifying and dehumidifying systems. 2) Interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, and use shop mathematics. 3) Ability to use all hand tools, test equipment, and instruments. 4) General knowledge of planning and estimating practices. 5) Ability to assign and direct work on job sites.

You must possess an EICM or HVAC or Electrician Journeyman license/certification or at a minimum have 5 years' experience as an EICM WG-4606-10/11, AC Equipment Mechanic WG- 5306-10/11, or Electrician WG-2805-10/11.
