The Compliance Manager, contributes to the facilitation, management, and delivery of Clarivate’s global ethics and compliance program, including: daily operations of the program, advising on ever-evolving ethics and compliance issues, laws and rules; export controls; sanctions; contract provisions with a focus on compliance; vendor and customer onboarding and due diligence questionnaires; conflicts of interest; compliance training; and whistleblower hotline investigations. You will be part of the global Ethics & Compliance Team responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and requirements applicable to our business operations, products, and services. 

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • University/Bachelor’s degree; Law Degree helpful though not required. 
  • Minimum of 5-7 years professional experience focused on corporate and regulatory ethics and compliance matters including anti-corruption, anti-bribery, sanctions and export controls, compliance training and whistleblower hotline report management and internal investigations. 
  • Strong knowledge of economic sanctions and BSA/AML/OFAC requirements and regulations. 
  • Experience with U.S. FCPA; UK Bribery Act and regional/local anti-corruption regulations. 
  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to teamwork 
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as an individual contributor 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Senior Management on a global level 
  • Independent, proactive, and team oriented “roll up your sleeves” attitude 
  • Collaborative and motivated to find the best approach through consultation with colleagues across the company 
  • A passion for compliance and willingness to continue strengthening compliance skillset 

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Promote the company's ethics and compliance principles and values through partnering with global colleagues to develop a strong culture of ethics and compliance 
  • Accountable for regional development and implementation of compliance policies, processes, initiatives, training programs and communications to foster the compliance culture of the company 
  • Coordinate with global product subject matter experts, including members of the legal and privacy teams to maintain compliance and mitigate risk to the company 
  • Investigate ethics and compliance concerns, communicate investigation outcomes, as appropriate, and follow up on corrective actions 
  • Actively lead and manage resolution of anti-corruption and export control related contractual inquiries as the regional compliance team contact 
  • Assist with denied party (sanction) screening and compliance review and approval of new customers, vendors, and partners 
  • Support the preparation of risk assessments relating to compliance matters 
  • Participate in the development of internal compliance communications and training, including conducting live training 
  • Collaborate with colleagues globally to provide day-to-day compliance support and guidance 

About the Team

This role reports into the Director, Ethics and Compliance working as part of a team of 4 Compliance professionals based globally.

Hours of Work

Full-time, permanent role based out of the Barcelona office on a hybrid basis, 2-3 days per week in the office.
