The Fluid End Technician is responsible for testing the job readiness of equipment, ensuring conformity to standards, and practicing safety procedures while operating equipment in high-pressure environments.

Detailed Description:

  • Inspects fluid ends for damaged or worn parts.
  • Washes fluid ends to remove stagnant sediment.
  • Inspects stay rods and tie bars for proper torque compression.
  • Replaces valves, seats, and packing elements.
  • Makes repairs to fluid ends as needed.
  • Inspects packing bores for wear patterns and indications of wash-outs.
  • Examines retainer nuts for cracked or broken threads.
  • Inspects seat desks for cracks or indications of a wash-out.
  • Evaluates rod bearings, thrust seats, bull gears, and pinion bearings for wear or damage.
  • Services and maintains fluid ends in high-cycle environments.
  • Diagnoses service issues and documents necessary repairs.
  • Provides operational assistance to maintenance staff.
  • Ensures the quality of equipment through preventive maintenance and adherence to company SOPs.
  • Documents all work performed using NexTier's CMMS.
  • Conducts final inspections to ensure equipment safety and efficiency.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
