Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Early Career Program Quality Engineer Associate. In this role, you will work as a Quality Engineer supporting the Orion Human Space Flight program at the Orion Test Labs as well as the Orion Software Organization ensuring the build, assembly, and test of all hardware & software meets quality requirements; Work with the experienced Quality Engineering team to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished material products and review and approve of Drawing Problem Reports, Changes Task, Test Procedure reviews, manufacturing work instructions reviews, PO closure, and Lab users’ activities.

The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of Designing and implementing software development and maintenance processes, Designing specifying and conducting test methods for software inspection, verification and validation and Evaluating and analyzing software quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensuring measures meet acceptable reliability standards.

Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college in technical discipline (e.g. engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g. math, physics, software, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications .
  • Ability to support weekend and 2nd shift software test runs occasionally during Run for Record Testing.
  • Possess a strong use of computer systems related to documenting and tracking work instructions and non-conformances in conjunction with office suite.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain certification in technical skills as required by the role.
  • US Citizenship required, with ability to obtain Public Trust security clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of non-conformance handling and disposition.
  • Hardware Quality Engineering related experience in a production environment.
  • Software Engineering or development experience
  • Ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules
  • Experience in Design/Test Readiness/Manufacturing Readiness Reviews
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems and Processes
  • Knowledge of SAP operating systems, Automation Framework, EPDM, P2P, and VECAMS

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $55,300 - $106,000. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
