What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a driven, proven people leader as Associate Manager, Collision Training to join the Collision Learning & Development (L&D) team. You will manage the daily operations of multiple training facilities and lead a team of technical trainers responsible for delivering training to support the performance of Tesla Collision Centers. You will ensure the effective and efficient administration of our learning programs including: scheduling, course evaluation, class facilitation, and working with subject matter experts and content designers to enhance existing and develop new learning solutions and programs. 

The position can be located in Fremont, CA or Houston, TX.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage & develop technical trainers
  • Create, manage and maintain training facility operational standards to ensure the optimal execution and delivery of learning programs (in-person and virtual)
  • Manage fleet, tooling, and equipment for training use. Order and inventory parts and consumables for training use
  • Earn and maintain expertise in Tesla products and liaise with internal partners to stay up to date on product development and new product releases
  • Partner with other learning and development team members to develop and maintain training content. Stay current on industry trends and emerging functional practices, educational theories, and technical tools
  • Measure, report, and provide insight to assist in the review of the effectiveness of learning programs
  • Comply with all Tesla safety rules, guidelines, and standards

What You’ll Bring

  • 5-7 years of experience in learning and development or technical training, preferably in the automotive or collision industry. At least 2+ years of experience leading teams, managing resources, and coordinating efforts within a lean distributed environment across multiple time zones
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage large complex projects or teams within a matrixed organization
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external partners. Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and navigate through an ambiguous environment; enjoys challenges
  • Ability to deliver results through influence without authority
  • Ability to work independently in limited supervision environment. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • 60% travel domestically and international based on business needs
  • Capable of lifting 50lbs and driving a forklift
