As a Warehouse and Stores Operative you will work within Medical Logistics Flight which is a key part of Capability and Sustainment Squadron within the Tactical Medical Wing. Medical Logistics Flight is responsible for the storage, maintenance and generation of Royal Air Force Medical Services capabilities supporting worldwide Defence activities as part of wider Royal Air Force Global Enablement.
The Warehouse and Stores Operative will be part of a team that liaises across the Tactical Medical Wing with a wide variety of medical personnel, technicians and logistics specialists, ensuring medical logistics requirements are understood and supported. The team needs to be responsive to the ever-changing nature of Defence, collaborating at pace with multiple stakeholders to support pre-planned and contingent activity.
Tactical Medical Wing is located across from the main RAF Brize Norton Camp, ideally located to this strategic hub with global reach. The Warehouse and Stores Operative will work within one of the main Tactical Medical Wing Hangers within a multi disciplined team consisting of Pharmacy Technicians, Royal Air Force Medics, Civil Servants, all under the command of a Medical Support Officer.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Working closely with logisticians and storekeepers, you will be responsible for the demanding, receipting, issuing, manual handling and movement (internal and external) of all Medical Materiel and equipment within Tactical Medical Wing (TMW). All in accordance with the Defence Logistics Framework statutory requirements and local regulations. The role includes data entry, both electronic and manual, using stores-specific accounting packages, e.g. Management of Joint Defence Inventory (MJDI), Joint Asset Engineering Solutions (JAMES), and Microsoft Office Packages.
