Purpose of Role:

To support the Factory Services Chargehand, and undertake the day to day running Factory Services based tasks, providing a service to the Harlow Site and Production team.

Main Accountabilities:

• Providing plant based support for the Factory Services Chargehand.
• Reviewing, updating & creating SOP’s with the Factory Services Chargehand
• Training of Factory Services Personnel
• Personal protection – dispersing and maintaining stocks, supporting the Factory Services Chargehand
• Manual handling
• Chemical handling
• Cleaning
• Site services (General site assistance, IBC Preparation, Waste for R & D, QC – Quarantining Stock)
• Fork lift truck driving
• Warehousing and dispatch of products including readying of loads (labelling)
• Materials preparation including Mother tank stock replenishment.
• Tankers (Raw Materials, Waste & MAM)
• Effluent – Maintaining of the area & PH Sampling (Mon – Fri)
• Laundry In / Out – Including plant contact for the vendor.
• Housekeeping & 5S Auditing
• Fire alarm testing
• Cyclical, Mid year & Year end stock taking.
• Bund inspection & cleaning.
• Site contact for FLT breakdowns (cover for the Factory Services Chargehand)

Safety Health Environment Quality

• Follow advice given in Company Engineering Standards, Safety Procedures and Chemical Data Sheet files, ensuring work is carried out to the standards set by the Standard Operating Procedures, check lists and SHEMS
• Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained, Inform supervision of any safety hazards, spillage/discharge, including releases to atmosphere/effluent are minimised and reported to supervision immediately and via the AIMS system
• Suggest improvements in the safety, and efficiency of operational procedures to the Services Manager and contribute to ensure risk assessments are in place and up to date
• Take a proactive approach to energy consumption, reporting any concerns or potential wastage, and look at creative ways to save energy consumption and filter ideas through to Site Management.

To join our successful team, you will need:

• A minimum of 5 GCSE grade C or above
• Experience in an industrial or process manufacturing environment
• Lean manufacturing would be an advantage
• Good listening, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and to work to deadlines to business demands.
• NVQ Level 3 in Process Operations (Gold Standard) would be desirable
• Counter Balance Fork Lift Truck Licence is also desirable
