Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking highly motivated and innovative Supply Chain Management professionals who are eager to join ABB now or in the future. This is an excellent opportunity to join our talent pool and be considered for upcoming SCM/Procurement roles. In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing and logistics-related activities in the Procurement function to support the businesses. Each day, you will execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by delivering and participating in training programs as required to ensure compliance and to foster professional development. The work model for the role is: LI#onsite/hybrid This role is to build the talent pipeline for either of business's in ABB (Electrification/ Process Automation/ Motion/ Robotics) at Various locations in India (Bangalore/ Faridabad/ Nashik/ Vadodara) You will be mainly accountable for: • Recommending and supporting in identifying new suppliers and coordinating with relevant category team. Following the process to qualify new suppliers in cooperation with supplier quality and engineering specialists. • Supporting in negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renewing pricelists, terms and conditions and feeding back recommendations for appropriate actions • Adapting corporate contractual framework to the local business needs. Recommending frame agreements to management, ensuring approved contractual terms in execution • Analyzing and evaluating bids within the scope, to determine the optimal value. Supporting bid and proposal teams by providing relevant market information within the area of responsibility • Overseeing supplier performance and recommending solutions, resolving performance issues within the scope. Initiating supply orders in the system, confirming delivery with suppliers, monitoring and tracking supplier performance to purchase order requirements

Qualifications for the role

• BE/BTECH in Electrical engineering or Mechanical engineering.
• A minimum of 4 - 15 years of experience with deep understanding of industrial automation, electrical systems, and the procurement process for highly technical and specialized products used in manufacturing, energy, and automation industries.
• Background in purchasing commodities for products like High Transmission/Low Voltage Motors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Switchgears, Low Voltage/Medium Voltage Panels, DCS (Distributed Control Systems), PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), and SCADA.
• Some hands-on experience in negotiations, vendor management, and understanding basic procurement strategies
• Understanding of supply chain processes, logistics, and inventory management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders effectively.
