LufkinThe Category Manager Assistant assists the Category Manager(s) with various functions within the Procurement Department.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES – At Brookshire Brothers, our core values, Quality, Growth, Community, Passion, and Home, are a priority to all team members.   • Display a friendly, courteous attitude towards customers, fellow employees, and co-workers at all times.
  • Be professional in appearance and demeanor.
  • Answer phones and other office functions.
  • Communicate to vendor community and stores.
  • Manage and work daily/weekly/monthly reports.
  • Confirm/adjust/and verify Purchase Orders.
  • Research deductions and send back up to vendors.
  • Set up new vendors.
  • Set up new items.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Be willing and able to perform other duties as assigned such as general cleaning, custodial duties, and other activities as directed by management.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Retail experience helpful; but not necessary.
