We are seeking a strong candidate to fill the BCG X Platform and Infrastructure - Senior Platform Engineer position.

As part of BCG X Platform and Infrastructure team, the Sr. Platform Engineer will work with multiple global teams to implement and support the full life cycle of cloud infrastructure solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) as part of product development used to solve our clients’ problems while maintaining the highest level of data security.

Key Responsibilities

• Development and support of self-provisioning capabilities across multiple Cloud service providers
• Provide functional & technical administration and support for to-be-built project platforms
• Work with other internal IT teams such as security, networking, and operations to resolve issues and release new capabilities
• Monitor production environments and act as the final point of escalation for service requests
• Implement and deliver collaborative DevOps practice guidelines and procedures for software delivery and infrastructure revisions to maintain and deliver developed products
• Manage escalations with an ownership mindset and attitude
• Development and configuration of infrastructure solutions with operational efficiency as a goal
• Evaluation of current systems and standards, to identify operational improvements
• Assist in implementing small to medium scale systems projects and change requests
• Build and release new features and bug fixes to meet rapidly evolving business needs
• Develop standard reports on KPIs to use for executive reporting
• Provide technical support to development team and/or application users as needed

What You'll Bring

• BA/MS degree in computer or information sciences or similar field
• 5+ years relevant professional experience in information technology
• Process-oriented and analytical working style
• Ability to understand and explain technical concepts both in technical and nontechnical situations
• Can clearly define and propose solutions / options, and considers the broader impact of problems / solutions
• Experience in Amazon Web Services and/or Azure, and strong desire to learn building on GCP and other maturing cloud platforms
• Good understanding of DevOps tools and methods for Cloud Computing environments
• Scripting skills using Python or PowerShell or Bash
• Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation a plus
• Use of CI/CD automation using tools like Circle CI, Ansible, Packer, Github Actions
• Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts
• Good knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems
• High degree of comfort with changing and maintaining configuration for enterprise software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong English language skills
• Demonstrates advanced problem solving through independent thinking
• Ability to execute and deliver day-to-day work with high quality and effectiveness
• Able to define and execute multiple tasks or more complex tasks with timely, high-quality results
• Proactively identifies and independently solves most non-routine problems by applying broad knowledge
• Able to foresee problems within expertise
