As our Delivery Manager, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.
Our opportunity is full time, 37 hours per week, but we would also consider applicants wishing to work a minimum of 25 hours per week and we will also try our best to consider those intending to work a job share. Do you crave a dynamic role where you can champion innovation and ensure the smooth delivery of the design of the weather services of the Met Office? Are you a project or delivery manager with a knack for building strong relationships and an interest in designing the enterprise? If so, then the Delivery Manager position within the Enterprise Design (ED) team is calling your name!
With an initial focus on the Enterprise Architecture team (eventually the role will support the wider Enterprise Design teams), you'll be responsible for:
1. Proven Project/Delivery Management Experience: Describe specific instances where you successfully managed projects or deliveries, outlining your role, the project's scope, key deliverables, timelines, and budget. Quantify your achievements whenever possible. Highlight experience within large organisations, emphasising your ability to navigate complex organisational structures and processes. Mention any relevant methodologies used (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
2. Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Provide examples of situations where you had to analyse complex information, identify root causes of problems, and develop effective solutions. Explain your analytical process, the tools, or techniques you used, and the positive outcomes you achieved.
3. Excellent Stakeholder Management and Collaboration Skills: Share examples of how you have effectively managed relationships with diverse stakeholders, including technical teams, business users, and senior management. Describe how you built rapport, communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and influence others to achieve common goals.
4. Understanding of Governance and Process Management: Demonstrate your understanding of the importance of clear governance frameworks and process management. Describe instances where you implemented or adhered to governance procedures, ensured compliance with standards, or improved existing processes. Explain your understanding of change management principles and how you ensured smooth transitions during organisational changes.
5. Experience in Demand Management and Resource Allocation: Provide examples of how you have managed resource demand within projects or teams. Describe your experience in forecasting resource needs, prioritising requests, allocating resources effectively, and managing resource conflicts. Explain how you balanced competing demands and ensured efficient resource utilisation to meet project objectives
