The Planning & Performance Director will play a pivotal role in supporting the creation and communication of meaningful business insights from data to aid better-informed decision-making within Business Units. This position will require a strong leadership and business acumen, an understanding of how high performing Finance teams function and the ability to build trusted relationships with leaders within PwC NZ. 

Reporting to the CFO and collaborating with two other Planning & Performance directors to collectively lead the Planning and Performance team, delivering commercial outcomes to the Firm and its Business Units as well as implementation of an EPM system, standardisation and simplification of financial processes, and ensuring robust reporting. Additionally, this role will involve mentoring and coaching a team of Financial Analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment that aligns with the broader objectives of the Planning & Performance team and wider Finance team.

  • Operational Communication and Collaboration: Assist leaders with commercial decision making, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and identifying financial risks. Ensure alignment with wider PwC practices.
  • Insight-Driven Analysis and Reporting: Deliver insightful, future focused financial analysis using advanced data analytics to inform strategy and decision making.
  • Financial Performance Enhancement: Provide expertise to improve financial outcomes and efficiency.
  • Team Supervision and Development: Mentor and develop a team of three Financial Analysts, fostering a culture of excellence and high performance.
  • Collaboration: Work with BU Executive teams and Enablement functions to support the wider firm.

Ngā pūkenga kei a koe / Skills and experience

  • CA, CPA, or CFA qualification
  • Over 10 years of financial leadership experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management and team leadership skills
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to interpret data and drive strategic decisions
  • A proven track record of strong and effective leadership
  • Ability to create clear reports from complex information for executives and board level shareholders
