Trauma and Emergency General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
Position Overview: The Trauma and Emergency General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers direct patient care consistent with the APP's education, experience, and certification, in collaboration with the attending Trauma and Emergency General Surgery physicians. This includes the diagnosis, management, and referral of health care issues specific to Trauma and Emergency General Surgery (EGS). The APP will complete pre and post-surgical management and recognize options for non-surgical management of trauma, EGS, and critically ill patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
o Physician Assistant (PA)
o Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP)
o Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or equivalent grandfathered certification.
o PA: License through the State Medical Board of Ohio.
o NP: License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Registered Nurse (RN) through the Ohio Board of Nursing.

Work Environment:
The APP will work across multiple sites, including The MetroHealth System's primary facility in Cleveland and partnering Level 3 trauma centers (in Parma and Norwalk). This role requires adaptability, flexibility in scheduling, and a commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality care across diverse settings. Rotating holiday and weekend coverage is required.
