Summary:

Skilled paint booth Painter with knowledge of how to apply paint and primer to metal and wood surfaces, ensuring durability and corrosion resistance. A successful applicant will have paint booth experience in automotive or similar industry, be hardworking, reliable and have good communication and organizational skills. Painter should have great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. Working with little supervision, while following all health and safety standards is essential.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Paint exterior doors and product surfaces using spray guns and other paint tools to specifications.
• Regulate conveyor speeds, machine temperature, air pressure and circulation, as well as the flow or spray of paints.
• Prepare surfaces to be painted to create smooth surfaces.
• Spray prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primers or finish coatings.
• Mix paints to match color specifications, stirring or thinning paints, using mixing equipment.
• Weigh or measure chemicals, coatings, or paints before adding them to machines.
• Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections or by using viscometers.
• Monitor equipment gauges and equipment performance to ensure accurate performance.
• Dispose of paint waste in accordance with company policy.
• Monitor painting operations to identify flaws, such as runs or dry shot, and correct their causes.
• Ensure all actions are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Complete all other duties and cross-training activities as assigned.

Hours of Work:

6:00am - 2:30pm, Mon-Fri

Education/Experience:

• At least 1 year of experience working in a paint booth in an industrial environment.
• Work orders and traveling requisitions
• Strong attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

• Production Environment not climate controlled. Ability to work in a consistent and safe manner.
• Ability to lift an estimated 50 pounds with or without accommodations.
• Ability to work effectively in an air suit
• Ability to quickly move your hands, arms, or fingers to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
• Balance and flexibility, with an ability to safely navigate over and around equipment and tools
• Ability to work in varied positions (flat, and vertical work)
• Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and squatting.
