SUMMARY

TAI is looking for a dynamic Project Manager of Operations and Process to join our team working with our partners at TMMK. The candidate will report to the Midwest Region General Manager.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Project/Kaizen program.
  • Assist with the coordination of Toyota Production Systems (TPS) by utilizing company policies and procedures as well as help lead in the communication and training of company expectations related to TPS.
  • Champion and lead change management activities for the facility from internal and external requests, ECI management, and major/minor model changes.
  • Act as main contact between TAI/SMC and the customer on changepoint activities ensuring communication is conveyed both internally and externally.
  • Coordinate the tracking and monitoring of management key performance indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, cost, productivity, and HRD of the FMDS program.
  • Support, train and develop Kaizen program including corrective actions and performance of TAI/SMC. Work with the customer to improve and present Kaizen activity and projects.
  • Support managers and customer with regular updates on upcoming change point status and progress, as well as updates on customer expectations and communication.
  • Oversee and manage the internal kaizen program from initial kaizen submission to assisting and direction until completion for all approved kaizens.
  • Plan, organize, facilitate, and run business meetings internally and externally where required.
  • Work with teams to achieve continuous improvement with strong focus on processes and procedures, while promoting the group Kaizen program. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Post-Secondary education in a business program is an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role is an asset
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize numerous open items related to employee behaviors, customer/supplier relations, third party logistics companies, and accounting request/demands.
  • Ability to handle high stress situations due to tight industry timelines and fast paced just in time (JIT) work environment.
  • Strong computer skills mainly with MS office
  • Must work closely and maintain good working relationship with senior management to coordinate and execute group efforts.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be available to travel if required
  • The ability to multitask and strong decision-making skills in fast-paced environment.
  • Valid Forklift Certification is an asset.
